Orpheum Theatre
The Orpheus Theater at 842 S. Broadway in downtown Los Angeles opened on February 15, 1926 as the fourth and final location for Orpheus’ vaudeville in Los Angeles.
After a $ 3 million renovation started in 1989, it is the city’s most refurbished historic cinema palace. The three previous theaters were also called Orpheus before Broadway 842 was the last to bear that name.
Orpheus has a facade with art designed by cinema architect J. Albert Lansburg and has the massive Wurlitzer Organ installed in 1928, which is one of the three remaining tubular organs in Southern California.
Orpheus theaters are named after the Greek mythological hero Orpheus, it is one of the most beautiful places in Los Angeles.
The Center covers an area of over 39,000 square feet and has ample space for the Theater of Orpheus’s own educational and social programs. The new center also allows us to organize more concerts, family programs and multicultural events in a modern theater with a modern sound system.

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art displays one of the city’s most valuable works of art. Artist Chris Burden’s painting City Light is a popular destination for both local and tourist photography.
